About the Carrollton Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association
The Carrollton Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is a not-for-profit, all volunteer organization of trained Carrollton Citizens who support the Carrollton Police Department. The purpose of the organization is to bring together graduates of the Carrollton Citizen Police Academy to enhance the relationship between the Alumni Association, the community and the Carrollton Police Department.
The CCPAAA members volunteer many hours annually in service to the Carrollton Police Department. Through fund-raising activities the CCPAAA provides the police department with equipment which is not budgeted but makes the police officer’s job more effective.
The CCPAAA provides food for officers during the holidays.
The Alumni meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Carrollton Police Department and are open only to members.
About the Carrollton Citizen Patrol
As a part of the Carrollton Police Department Volunteer Unit, the Citizen Patrol Members are the extra eyes and ears for the Carrollton Police Department. The Citizen Patrol can be seen throughout the city patrolling in vehicles marked and equipped for the Carrollton Citizen Patrol Organization.
Our volunteers are equipped with police radios inside the vehicles, as well as hand held units. The volunteers also have emergency equipment such as safety traffic vests, flashlights with traffic wands, road flares and cones and GPS navigation systems.
Volunteers are each assigned individual patrol ID numbers and badges that are registered with the City and with 911 Dispatch. Our volunteers go “in-service” with dispatch just as our police officers do, allowing our volunteers and 911 Dispatch to work together as the members patrol the city. The members can be sent to aid police officers in various activities--such as traffic control for accidents, missing persons’ searches and abandoned and illegally parked vehicles.
The group also delivers warrants, court filings, grand jury documents and case evidence to Dallas, Denton and Collin Counties as needed.
Citizen Police Academy
Join the Citizen Police Academy to learn about your Police Department and its officers. This on-going program is presented at no cost to Carrollton citizens. Information is provided as a public service to acquaint you with the Police Department.
Citizen Patrol
You are eligible to become a member of the Carrollton Citizen Patrol if you are 21 or older, a Carrollton resident, work in Carrollton and have graduated from the Carrollton Citizen Police Academy.
CCPAAA
The Carrollton Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization funded by dues and contributions, consisting of citizens who have graduated from the city's Citizen Police Academy.
