Jimmie Smith

4rd Quarter 2018 Volunteer of the Quarter

Jimmie was nominated by Judy Lyle

"I would like to nominate Jimmie Smith as the CCPAAA Volunteer of the Quarter. Jimmie has been a vital part of our organization since he graduated from CPA Class in 2014. When we found out he was an expert in website carpentry and graphic design as well as photography, we knew he would be a great asset. With Jimmie's guidance, a Media Committee was formed and he and two other members, John Donovan and Augustin Chamero helped to re-organize and update our webpage to make it more user friendly for the members as well as the public. Jimmie developed a page on our website to browse through pictures of events that the volunteers participate in and has m a d e it accessible to the public to view as well. This site has proven to be a great advertisement for recruiting people to sign up for our CPA Classes. Jimmie's personality comes through when he is helping with the PD tours we conduct since most of the tours consist of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts an organization he has been involved in for the past 20 years. His first passion is the scouting program from Cubs to Explorers and his involvement has been utilized in our own CPD Explorer Post 125. When Sgt. Joe Nault found out Jimmie was involved with the Explorer program he asked Jimmie to assist in aiding the Explorer Advisors in complying with Youth Protection Training requirements. Sgt. Nault states that he has found Jimmie to be invaluable in navigating the minute details and red tape that comes with running a youth program since he was able to draw on his years of experience with the Scouts-BSA and the Circle Ten Council. Jimmie is constantly flexing his schedule to attend the Explorers meetings and looking for ways to promote the post. He has authored a web page and helped organize the Post's Facebook page to further promote the Explorer Program.

Ron Chartier, VP of CCPAAA states that Jimmie is involved in other volunteer work outside of the police Department. On Monday's he delivers Meals on Wheels to a number of people in the Irving-Farmers Branch area. He is so personable and brings great joy and delight to so many people that are not mobile and able to get out. Jimmie is also very active in Monday Night Fingerprinting and is one of our fingerprint specialists.

We have all valued greatly from having someone like Jimmie Smith in our organization and it is my honor to recognize his many talents and to ask you to join me in congratulating Jimmie Smith as our volunteer of the fourth quarter."
