Roy Rabey

3rd Quarter 2018 Volunteer of the Quarter

Roy was nominated by Judy Lyle

"I am pleased to nominate one of our newest members of CCPAAA as our volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2018. Roy Rabey is a recent graduate of CPA Class 53 and from the first day he came to us, he has been an essential part of every project or event that we have been involved in. Roy’s talents are many and his unending imagination to help us come up with ideas for projects makes him a very valuable member of the CCPAAA. During the first couple of weeks into CPA class 53, Roy found out that we were asking for businesses to sponsor a table for our Casino night and he took it upon himself to rally the class to donate enough money to sponsor a table. Then when CPA class 54 was started, Roy again campaigned to have Class 54 also sponsor a table. Of course, it didn’t hurt that Roy’s wife Tammy was in Class 54! So now, as an added bonus when Class 54 graduated, we acquired another member of the Rabey family to join our growing family.

I jokingly call Roy the 'Russell Widener' of our group because it seems that every time we need an idea, we say let’s get with Roy and see what he can come up with. Roy’s talents are never ending when it comes to a project and typically his suggestions are more than we could have imagined. Recently, we upgraded our tri-fold brochures and Roy suggested that instead of having the brochures written out describing who we are and what we do, that we consider doing it with pictures. Once he had the approval to proceed, the final outcome was very well thought out and met with approval from the alumni. From the first time we met Roy we knew we had a special talent among us and we are truly grateful for his energy, his computer skills, and his willingness to go above and beyond whenever a task is presented.

Ron Chartier, CCPAAA Vice President states, in the very beginning as a new volunteer, it became quite evident that Roy was an exceptional person as his actions of doing multiple volunteer projects was met with great enthusiasm and a wonderful 'can do' attitude. Ron further states that when he invited Roy to become a part of the fundraising committee and he was put in charge of the silent auction portion of our Casino Night that we were going to have the best presentation ever and that has proven to be the case. Roy takes on every task with a willingness to provide this organization with the best of the best.

Some of Roy’s accomplishments include the following:
Redesigning our business cards that we use to pass out to the general public.
New fingerprint card holders that make fingerprinting more efficient
Redesigning our tax donation forms making them more legible and user friendly
Designing the layout and graphics for all our sponsors tables for Casino Night
Designing the layout and graphics for all our Silent Auction items

We are honored to have Roy Rabey on our team and I highly recommend him for Volunteer of the Quarter for 2018"
