Katie Thornhill

2nd Quarter 2019 - Volunteer of the Quarter

Katie was nominated by Judy Lyle

"It is my pleasure to announce our recommendation for the Volunteer of the Quarter for 2019 is Katie Thornhill. Katie is a graduate of CPA Class 53 and completed all her patrol training in record time and is working on becoming a certified patrol trainer. Katie has not stopped learning all she can about the CCPAAA and how she can contribute to making us a better organization. Her willingness to assist whenever help is needed is very welcome and she has done an outstanding job of not only learning all she can about patrol, but how she can donate her time to other opportunities in our organization.

Katie approached her patrol training with much enthusiasm and wanted to go out almost every day to gain the knowledge she needed to be able to achieve experience in patrol. She began her patrol training under the guidance of Stephanie Giroux in October of 2017 and was released from training on Feb 8, 2018. Since completing her training, she is now eager to become a certified trainer so that she can assist our new members and help them achieve their goals as a patrol volunteer.

Roy Rabey, CCPAAA President states that it was a pleasure to go through the CPA class with Katie and it was obvious from the start that she was a motivated participant. This was clearly demonstrated upon graduation when she immediately began her patrol training and was recognized as a go-getter.

Katie has become a valuable member of patrol and is out multiple times during the week. She is on call to help assist when an emergency arises and help is req uested from the PD. Katie has been an active volunteer, from focusing on patrol to assisting with CID and assisting with administrative needs when they arise.

She was recently asked to assist with the mug shot processing program, and with very little training was able to bring that program up to date. Katie is always looking for ways to help not only in patrol but in many aspects of the CCPAAA. Feedback from CCPAAA members is that her positive outlook and her willingness to help wherever needed has made her a valuable and welcome addition to our organization. Her enthusiasm and willingness to take on any task that comes her way makes her a valuable asset to our organization and we are proud to nominate her as our volunteer of the quarter."

Respectfully,
Judy Lyle
CCPAAA Vice President
